American.Film.Week
FEBRUARY 22 - 28, FRIDAY - THURSDAY AT 8PM Sponsored by Holiday Inn Major season support by the National Endowment for the Arts
American.Film.Week. is back for a second year of the finest unseen films in American independent cinema. With just one film a night, this highly-curated program highlights our choices for not-to-be-missed, new American filmmaking at its finest. This year's we get up close and personal with two comedians: the hilarious emerging comic Eddie Pepitone (The Bitter Buddha) and a small town punk charmer (in Locarno Festival prize-winner Ape). We also offer two fiercely independent films about kids (Crazy and Thief) and confrontations with dad (Berlin festival winner Arcadia). Landscape filmmaker James Benning offers up an unusual recreation of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider. Actress-turned-filmmaker Amy Seimeitz, from Megan Griffith's The Off Hours, delivers a poetic road trip and visual odyssey with the Tlingit people in Alaska (Smokin' Fish).
