THE TWIN CITIES JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL presents
STATELESS
Sunday, May 6 at 2pm Location: SABES JCC
The agonizing story of the politically charged climate of the late 1980s when the Soviet government opened the borders and allowed its Jewish population to leave the country. Migrants choosing the United States as their destination, now had to prove a reasonable fear of persecution. For those born into a climate where discrimination was the norm, this was difficult and they were denied refugee status in ever increasing numbers, leaving thousands stranded in Italy.
Panel discussion to follow, including personal appearance by director, Michael Drob.
Presented in partnership with RAJMN and Genesis Philanthropy Group.
