In Search of Blind Joe Death: The Saga of John Fahey
Canada/USA, 2012, 58 minutes Director: James Cullingham A feature documentary about the tremendously influential composer, guitarist, author and provocateur John Fahey. Known as "the father of American Primitive Guitar," Some think of him as a foundational figure in American folk music. The film combines live action and archival footage with animation in a kinetic, musically charged tribute to a great artist. FEATURING Pete Townshend, Joey Burns of Calexico, Chris Funk of The Decemberists and renowned radio personality Dr. Demento.

With a musical sound that is both, angry and redemptive, traditional and modern, the siblings attempt to transfer their dark history of forced relocation, racism, and human rights violations, into a form of creative expression and youth empowerment. On the road, at home, and in the studio, their unique lives provide a dynamic insight into the contemporary issues facing a generation of Native American youth.
