The Jewish community in Iran dates back to 2700. The Islamic Revolution of 1979 resulted in the departure of many from the country, yet in Iran there remains a Jewish community that is flourishing despite discrimination and hardship. This is the first time a Muslim director has made a film about Iranian Jews. Ramin Farahani's path-breaking film, provides rare access into how the JEWS OF IRAN preserve their Judaism and hopes for the future.

For fifteen years Swedish artist Esaias Baitel photographed Purim holiday festivities in Jerusalem. Baitel's childhood fondness for Purim is inextricably intertwined with his father's storytelling from the point of view of a Holocaust survivor.
