Let the artists tell it: East Oakland has a vibe, a distinctive feel and flavor, and they do all they can to capture and convey it. Join KALW Public Radio, Oakland Voices, Eastside Arts Alliance & LiveArts in Resistance for Sights and Sounds of East Oakland, an ongoing series of events celebrating the community by the artists who live, work, and create here. This event will feature the musical presentation of spoken word artist & singer M'Kala Payton and live stories of journalists from KALW & community journalism project, Oakland Voices.
