Dan Blakeslee and Eric George Live at the Lutherie
Gather round all ye acoustic folk song loving people Dan Blakeslee and Eric George are coming to Somerville!
Dan Blakeslee is a traveling musician and long time resident of Somerville who now lives in Providence, RI. His music crosses many genres: folk, country-blues, americana with his octopus pickguard adorned acoustic guitar by his side. He is going on a sixty day US tour with his new record "The Alley Walker" and from Stubblebine Lutherie he heads on this journey southward. Dan is always seeking unique and interesting places to perform and honored to play Stubblebine Lutherie who's magic is no longer a secret. Dan also helped Yukon paint the signs for the front of the shop. Blakeslee has performed with Josh Ritter, Old 97's, Deer Tick, The Ballroom Thieves, Slaid Cleaves, David Wax Museum, The Lumineers and many more. "There is a feeling of antiquity to the songs, which are written in a poetic language that could have been taken from Walt Whitman's 'Leaves Of Grass' " - Boston Globe
Eric George is touring musician and poet from Burlington, VT who delivers his songs chock full of wit and charm while his fingers have an all out brawl with the strings all over the fret board. Eric is always seeking new ways to express his music and works diligently crafting his songs, engaging the audience and wandering the land in traditions of old... a man Woody Guthrie would be damn proud of! "Not About Nightingales offers strong melodies built upon delta blues and folk influences, nice arrangements and Erics comfortable voice. The inclusion of rock and bluegrass elements and even a bit of jazz influence, provide the folk melodies with alluring nuances. If youre into good, easy-to listen-to folk music, then this album is for you." -Huffington Post
