The Maydays TWOPROV course

An eight-week course in the art of duo improv - from a 2 person scene through to creating an entire show with just 2 improvisers.

What can I expect?
Exercises which drill into techniques to build strong 2 person scenes
Editing and Character building skills needed for duo shows
Exploration of longform structures that support 2 person work
You don't need to be in an existing duo or have previous experience of doing 2 person shows. Duos are very welcome to apply but please note you'll be working with all course participants over the 8 weeks.

Those with previous long form improvisation experience
Those wanting to develop strong scenework
Those looking to create and perform in an improv duo show or develop a current team

The course will culminate in a showcase for family and friends on the 9th Tuesday of the course (1 week after the last class)

This course will be taught by Heather Urquhart, a director of the Maydays, member of Showstopper! the improvised musical and Artistic Director of London's Nursery Theatre. Heather's own duo improv show 'Ten Thousand Million Love Stories' has toured to The US, Canada, Germany, Spain, Romania, Italy, Pakistan and Malawi. She also has a musical duo show with I.O's Joe Bill 'Blues Hammer' which debuted at Dubai International improv conference in 2017 and will appear next at Lyon improv festival in May 2018.
