A trio of headlining professional artists performing alongside BRAVO students in a concert celebrating the music that unites us across cultural and national boundaries.
Korea/US: Born in South Korea, and raised in Seattle, looping violinist and songwriter Joe Kye draws on his migrant upbringing and blends indie-rock, jazz, classical, pop and world folk to create a unique sound that will leave you in awe.
Morocco and the Mediterranean: Multi-instrumentalist Tarik Banzi and guitarist Julia Banzi, performing together as the Al-Andalus Ensemble, are internationally known for a creative fusion that unites eastern and western musical traditions.
Brazil: Percussionist Steven Schob and flutist Gabriela Gimenes are regular collaborators, bringing to the Northwest the vibrant musical traditions of Brazil, including choro, bossa nova, contemporary composers, and more.
This concert will also include brief testimony by BRAVO students and staff.
