Jaytech ANJUNABEATS/ANJUNADEEP
"Awakening" represents the realization of the "2.0 era of Jaytech. Its the third studio album from the elite Australian progressive house producer, also responsible for one of the Greatest Australian Dance Tracks of All Time, and key producer on both the mighty Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels. Hes now king of his own progressive empire via his Positronic label: the very embodiment of his message of honesty, sincerity and positivity in music.
Known to friends and family as James Jimbo Cayzer, his story stretches back over a decade, beginning in his hometown of Canberra, Australia whereas one of the worlds most promising progressive house producers, he signed his first vinyl record at the age of 16. His talent was spotted by the Anjunabeats label, who invited him to work with them in London, kickstarting his journey into the global dance music scene.
Jaytech was embraced as the unofficial mascot for the progressive Anjunadeep sublabel, where he penned lush, dreamy classics like the instant classic Pepe's Garden, named by inthemix as one of the Greatest Australian Dance Tracks of All Time. Alongside label boss James Grant he curated the Anjunadeep 02 and Anjunadeep 03 compilations, both of which reached #1 on the US iTunes dance albums chart.
Jaytech made his name playing progressive music to the trance crowd. As the warmup DJ of choice for Anjunabeats leaders Above & Beyond, hes played iconic venues like the Hollywood Palladium and Brixton Academy in London. Hes also a seasoned DJ whos played clubs in every corner of the world, and visited nearly every festival touchpoint you could imagine including EDC in Vegas, Tomorrowland in Belgium and Electric Zoo in NYC.
Gravitating to more euphoric territory after the release of his debut album Everything is OK, Jaytech eventually stepped up to the Anjunabeats roster with the mainroom sounds that defined his sophomore album Multiverse. A steady flow of big records ultimately led to a #1 on the Beatport trance charts alongside Super8 & Tab with their collaboration on Code Red.
Now based in Berlin, the next step for Jaytech was to build his own musical community. Regularly showcasing new artists on his Jaytech Music radio show and podcast, which is listened to by tens of thousands every month, he established Positronic as an extension of these ideals. Mentoring up-and-comers in the studio, the venture was showcased to full effect on his Positronic Collective compilation.
"Awakening" is the debut album on the label, a journey into high-tech melodies and sparkly electro grooves, a musical story that illustrates a bright future in which the world unites with the help of technology. As mankind transcends its struggles, technology itself approaches a state of artificial singularity, where it opens its robot eyes to see the world for the first time.
However, the album is just as much a personal story for Jaytech, symbolizing the next stage of his career as he branches out to builds his own Positronic musical empire. Theres plenty more to come.
