Are you a new fruit tree owner? Confused about when, how and why to prune your trees? Proper pruning reduces disease and promotes greater fruit production. Join the WSU Clark County Master Gardener Program, in partnership with Clark County Environmental Services and Vancouver Urban Forestry, for a fruit tree pruning workshop.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 9th from 10 am to 1pm, at the Clark County Heritage Farm (1919 NE 78th Street, Vancouver, WA.) The one-hour classroom session will be followed by a short drive (15 minutes) to a nearby site for hands-on demonstration and practice.
Participants will learn correct techniques for pruning fruit trees and will have an opportunity to practice some pruning cuts with the guidance of experts. The class is limited to 30; registration is required. Contact Erika Johnson at erika.d.johnson@wsu.edu or 360-397-6060 x 5738.
