Louis Moreau Institute: Blues, Shadows and Electric Angels
Blues, Shadows and Electric Angels, presented by the Louis Moreau Institute for New Music Performance, New Orleans, features electric and eclectic music including Olivier Messiaens Pièce pour piano et quatuor à cordes, Aaron Coplands Four Blues, Yu-Hui Chang's Shadow Chase, Eric Chasalow's The Fundamental Object, Fredric Rzewski's Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues, George Crumbs Black Angels, and an improvisation based of a NOLA favorite tune. This evening of chamber music will showcase dynamic performances by the 2018 Ensemble Artists of the LMI The Louies: The Ulysses Quartet, members Christina Bouey, violin, Rhiannon Banerdt, violin, Colin Brookes, viola, and Grace Ho, cello along with Adrian Blanco, piano.
