Say It Loud: Simply Me
Say It Loud: Simply Me is a story of Felicia V. Loud's love for music and finding her voice, at a time when children were to be seen and not heard. It was unimaginable that Felicia would find theatre and singing as a tool for expressing herself. Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center was the first place where she stood on stage to perform, and after living most of her life as an artist she returns to Langston to tell part of her story.
Felicia explores her journey in growing up as an only child in a single parent home in the 70s. From the North End to the Central District, the City of Seattle was the environment in which her mother chose to raise her. Where they had to grow into knowing one another. Felicias beautiful southern born mother wanted something more for her little girl and she is the reason this peace is possible.
