Pearl's Gone Blue
Book and Lyric Writer: Leslie Kramer Composer and Lyric Writer: Gabriel Gordon Director: Michele Shay
In "Pearl's Gone Blue," Seddy, Bell, and Tiny are as tight as girlfriends can be. They live in the South in the 1940's where everything's hot, even at church. But that's nothing compared to the rise in temperature when Billy Beau Bradford comes to town. The sweet-talking blues man sweeps Seddy off her feet as the two sing to the slow strum of his guitar. Bell is pissed about it, Tiny's praying, and Beau, well, he never said he'd be still around when the song ended. What will it take for Seddy to grab hold of her own voice?

Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
NO REFUNDS will be granted.
