MOTHERS OF THE MOVEMENT is a readers theater workshop that brings to life a series of firsthand accounts depicting the strife, struggle, and triumph of Black Women activists from the 19th century to the present day. This show gives voice to these often unheard patriots while also asking: How far have we come? How far do we need to go?
Directed by Alexis Ingram and featuring a variety of dynamic women of color, MOTHERS OF THE MOVEMENT is a celebration of Black triumph and tragedy with original music and iconic black poetry.
THIS IS A PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN EVENT! After each reading, there will be a brief talkback and light refreshments served.
