With her ability to channel the enchanting nature of Erykah Badu and the no-nonsense dynamism of Nina Simone, Talibah Safiya is a truly spellbinding performer. Though she grew up in Memphis, Talibahs music career had been rooted in Brooklyn, New York, where she opened for artists like Bilal and Pharcyde, until 2017 her hometown called her back, and were lucky to have her perform at the Pure Memphis Music Series on March 8.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Music starts promptly at 7:30pm.
