Felonious 20th Anniversary Celebration
On January 1, 1998 a group of rappers, actors, musicians, and performers came together to record a demo in the basement of a Richmond district house in San Francisco and Felonious was born. Known for turning hip-hop shows into ass-shaking musical theater (Eric K. Arnold) Felonious fuses live music, theater, virtuosic beatboxing, free style rap, and arts education in everything we do. 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of our critically acclaimed collective and we are kicking off a series of events with a performance party on March 2 at the Flight Deck in Oakland featuring live musical performances by the original members of Felonious with Joey Muller and guest MCs; excerpts from past theater shows such as Beatbox: A Raparetta, Stateless, and Angry Black White Boy; a sneak peak of new theatrical work including End of the Silence featuring Dan Wolf and Curren$y an all female rap adaptation of Shakespeares Merchant of Venice with Delina Patrice, Ryan Nicole Austin, Lauren Spencer, Coco Peila, Ashley Smiley, Dyanna Loeb, and Sierra Marie; special guest speakers Ellen Sebastian Chang, John McCluggage, Billy Cohen, and more!
