The Frontiers of Social Impact: Innovations in Global Development
Hunger. Poverty. Climate Change. Migration. In a world of complex challenges, how can technology and social ventures offer innovative solutions to improve the lives of millions of people?
Join Mercy Corps team members Myriam Khoury and Ric Shreves to hear how were using the latest technologies--like blockchain and heat mapping--and investing in new business models that create sustainable impact around the world.
And as a special treat, we'll be joined by Mercy Corps' Social Venture Fund portfolio company Vega Coffee. They'll tell you firsthand how their startup is disrupting the coffee supply chain by allowing farmers to roast their own coffee and sell it directly to you--reaping the financial benefits they greatly deserve.
Please note, Mercy Corps team members Scott Onder and Alan Donald mentioned on our print Spring Lectures flyer and originally scheduled to speak at this event, were called away on field projects. Their esteemed colleagues, Vice President of Innovation, Myriam Khoury, and Senior Advisor for Technology in Development, Ric Shreves, from the same teams and equally well versed in the frontiers of social impact, will speak instead.
