PROTOCOLS OF ZION presented by AJC SEATTLE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL 2006
PROTOCOLS OF ZION w/Christ in the City (short) 6:30 PM
Director: Marc Levin Country/Year: USA, 2005 Language: English Running Time: 95 min. Format: 35mm
Award-winning director Marc Levin delivers a probing and provocative exploration of resurgent anti-Semitism in the wake of the September 11th attacks. Levin's film draws its inspiration from a 2001 encounter with a New York taxi driver, an Egyptian immigrant, who made the disturbing claim that the Jews had been warned not to go to work at the World Trade Center on the day of the attack. The driver claimed, "it's all written in the book," referring to "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion," a notorious counterfeit written a hundred years ago, purporting to be the Jews' master plan to rule the world. Discredited as a fake long ago, "The Protocols" are as popular as ever and sold on Amazon and until recently Wal-Mart. "The Protocols" influenced Hitler and spawned a recent dramatization aired on Egyptian television. Deeply disturbed by this phenomenon, Levin's engaging man-on-the-street interviews with Arab Americans, Black nationalists, White supremacists and Kabbalist rabbis is an engaging attempt at understanding how this sham book has fueled hatred, violence, and ultimately genocide through the first half of the twentieth century.

Jesus comes down to earth in order to check out a screening of Mel Gibson's THE PASSION, but gets stranded with no way back to heaven before Shabbos begins. Can this nice Jewish carpenter find a shul before sunset?
