Chicago Young Adult Book Festival- FREE!
You are cordially invited to the Chicago Young Adult Book Festival and it is TOTALLY FREE!
Did you say FREE? Yup, FREE!
Where? HAMILTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
What is it? The 4th Annual Chicago Young Adult Book Festival sponsored by the Book Cellar is an inclusive literary event that embraces and promotes the diversity of its urban environment; its goal is to engage, enlighten and inspire young readers and the authors who write for them.
Meaning? We'll be hosting panel discussions, photo-ops, and book signings with 24 of your favorite YA Authors. This is the perfect chance to hang out with a diverse and inclusive group of people who love YA as much as you. Learn about writing, quiz your favorite authors about that one plot twist, get all the Instagram photos you want to make your friends jealous they missed out.
Check out chiyabookfest.com for a full list of authors, the schedule, and more.
Do I need a ticket? No, but we wanna know how many people are coming. That way we can manage seating needs and things like that. Come for one panel or stay the whole day. Plus, it's free!
So, what is CYA Fest about? EVERYTHING A great book is about everything.
I came up with that thought myself and also picked it up somewhere, and then changed it a little or maybe more than a little, maybe a lot, until it was not completely unfamiliar but also completely new.
Which is how the best book festivals are made.
The Chicago Young Adult Book Festival is about gender and witches, race and invisibility, violence and escape, distant worlds and this world. Its about bullying and redemption, crime and show business, and dogs that can read minds. Its about ghosts, goldmines, blind grandparents, and how to win the love of your life in ten easy steps.
And that doesnt cover half of it.
The subject matter is endless because CYABF is about everything. - Ted Goeglein
