Karim Nagi with the Itraab Ensemble at The Spot on Kirk
Join us Saturday, March 10th for our third International Music Series Event! Music takes us to the Arabic world as Karim Nagi takes the stage, featuring a special performance from the Moss Arts Center's Itraab Ensemble.
Arab & Muslim American immigrant musician Karim Nagi performs on multiple instruments, sings, and moves. He goes beyond his native Egypt to share music and artistic attitudes of the Arab world. His interactive concerts & lectures have been conducted in 18 countries, and he is active in the American school system. Nagi has recorded 13 CDs and has 15 music videos on Youtube. In an era of travel bans, refugee crises, civil war, and the war on terror, hearing the artistic side of Arabs & Muslims is now more vital than ever.
Ahead of Karim's performance, experience selections from the Itraab Ensemble, a group of musicians from the Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg, Virginia. Enjoy musical pieces from various parts of the Arab world performed through percussion, voice, and Arabic instruments.
