Nova Scotia Bluegrass & Gospel fiddle/mandolin
Nova Scotias Roxeen & Dalrymple is a classic guitar and mandolin vocal duet, performing in the traditional styles of bluegrass, country and gospel music. Originally teamed together 25 years ago as band mates of the legendary Spinney Brothers, a life of separate musical paths has brought them back together, performing the music they cherish.
Individually the duo consists of Roxeen Roberts and Gary Dalrymple. Collectively they are highly respected, veteran musicians with impressive musical resumes. They are multiple East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) nominees, Maritime Gospel Music awards (MGMA) nominees, and have won numerous Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards (ECBMAs). They have toured coast to coast in Canada and the United States and now, after careers of extensive travel and performing and recording, the duo couldnt be more excited as to where they have landed musically.
As Roxeen Roberts recently noted, we honestly love the classic sounds of traditional bluegrass, country and gospel music. Gary Dalrymple stated, we both grew up on the sounds of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton etc, you know, the good stuff. It is this style of music that we are so excited to be performing. Our show includes many of the standards, however, expect to hear some of our own material, songs of course, that are heavily influenced by the music we were raised on.
