SUZANNE NUTTALL and JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
THURSDAY, MARCH 21st - 7:30pm SUZANNE NUTTALL and JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER
SUZANNE NUTTALL played The Flying Beaver Pubaret at the beginning of January and February and both shows were a resounding success. So she's back by popular demand!
Suzanne is delighted to invite JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER to share a double bill with her. The two met in Las Vegas while attending the 2012 OUTMUSIC AWARDS, hit it off fabulously, and just knew they had to play a show together in Toronto.
Suzanne will be accompanied by guitarist BOB COHEN and viola player CHARMAIN LOUIS. This promises to be a very special night! Come down to The Pubaret, have supper, a drink and soak in the vibe! Please consider making dinner reservations.
THURSDAY, MARCH 21st - 7:30pm SUZANNE NUTTALL and JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER
Tickets $10 in advance / $15 at the door. Available at The Pubaret or online at Dinner available before, during and after the show. Dinner patrons get priority seating. E-mail Heather@pubaret.com or call 647.347.6567 for dinner rezzos.

ABOUT SUZANNE NUTTALL: Suzanne has been described as "a pint-sized Foucault pendulum... perpetually in motion, never missing a note" by Hour magazine while Chart magazine has written "Powerful, haunting and playful voice" and The Montreal Gazette succinctly summed it up with "Great pipes." Suzanne has played in Montreal roots duo Bare Bones, Toronto soul/funk band Sue de Nym, and the all-queer supergroups Disco Dyke Divas and Princess. She is now performing under her own name without a net... and the result is disarmingly intimate and interactive! In late 2011, Suzanne decided to join the digital revolution and make all thirteen of her Sue de Nym tracks available for download on iTunes, and released a music video for the song FALSE MESSIAHS. This signaled her return to original music! In 2012, she entered the studio to record her first new song in over a decade which documents the hardships she's faced and lived through: I SEE WILD HORSES was released on iTunes under her own name and a music video of the song was made. Suzanne played several live shows throughout 2012 accompanied by guitarist Bob Cohen and viola player Charmain Louis. "I See Wild Horses" was nominated for a 2012 OUT MUSIC AWARD in the Folk/Country category and Suzanne attended the awards ceremony in Las Vegas in December. Still reading?!? We'll finish off with a laugh. Recently, music promoter RICHARD FLOHIL wrote "Suzanne Nuttall is the best singer nobody knows." This made Suzanne laugh... and cry a little. Come down to the Flying Beaver Pubaret and find out for yourself!

ABOUT JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER Singer-songwriter-pianist JEFFERY MICHAEL STRAKER performs over 100 shows of his folk-pop-cabaret music per year across Canada. He's recorded for CBC radio's "Canada Live," had a music video in the top 10 on MuchMoreMusic, and in 2012 performed in Africa. Tour stops range from intimate house concerts to club and theatre shows and include a recent sold-out concert (capacity 2000) with the full Regina Symphony Orchestra. The review following his orchestral debut read: "Straker was simply spectacular... clearly one of the province's best cultural exports." Canadian Musician Magazine has said, "Very much an artist to watch" while the Chicago Free Press has written "Rufus Wainwright, as well as k.d. lang are among the Canadians making essential and beautiful music. Add the name Jeffery Straker to that list."
Straker just launched his latest collection of songs called "Vagabond" (Oct 2012), produced by Danny Michel. The release has been met with critical acclaim with the Toronto Star giving it 4 (out of 4) stars and calling it "one of the most faultlessly conceived and meticulously executed albums in any genre to come out of Canada in a long time." Xtra! said "... like the unexpected yet surprisingly down-to-earth lovechild of Neil Young and Elton John."
Jeffery is touring coast to coast in Canada in 2013.
