Why should we worry about genetically modified ingredients in our food? Hansen will describe what genetic engineering is, the lack of required safety testing and why you should be concerned. He will review studies linking GE foods to potential adverse health (allergies, immune system effects, damage to various organs, etc.) and environmental (e.g. increased pesticide use) impacts. He will also discuss what GE foods are on the market, or ready to come to market, why GE foods should be labeled and how you can avoid them (yes even whole foods carries items containing GE ingredients), and much more.
