Join us for our annual brokers panel to look back at 2017 and explore what trends to look for in 2018 for the San Francisco, Oakland/Alameda County, and Silicon Valley/Peninsula commercial markets.
This panel brings together Chris Roeder, International Director at Jones Lang Lasalle; Michael Moran, Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield; and Sam Swan, Managing Director at Jones Lang Lasalle (Oakland office). Together their extensive breath of experience in the Bay Area leasing and sales commercial markets will provide an informative and exciting discussion about the activity in San Francisco, the newly dynamic Oakland market, and the South Bay.

CHRIS ROEDER, JLL
Chris leads the 36-person JLL brokerage team in San Francisco and is a member of the company's Brokerage Executive Council, Leadership Council, and Global Leasing Board. Chris's primary business is representing institutional landlords and tenants throughout the city's 85 million square foot commercial office sector.
Chris is considered one of the top agency leasing brokers in the United States and has continually been one of the top producing brokers for JLL since joining the firm in 2007. He leases more than one million square feet averaging over 70 transactions per year. He has more than 20 years' experience as a commercial real estate advisor and plays an active role in regional business development as well as devising strategic leasing, preleasing, and development plans for headquarter companies with downtown San Francisco's largest institutional investors. Chris's top tier client list includes developers such as Kilroy Realty Group, TMG and The John Buck Company, as well as world class institutional investors such as TIAA-CREF, Paramount Group, MetLife, Prudential, Westfield, Lucas Companies, Invesco, Divco, Bentall Kennedy and American Realty Advisors.
Some of his recent honors include:
* Lease of the Year, 440,000 square feet, 2012 Salesforce HQ at 350 Mission for Kilroy Realty Group
* Development of the Year, 500,000 square feet, 2012 for Macy's Online and Riverbed's HQ's at 680 Folsom for TMG and Rockwood
* Deal of the Year, Lease of the Year and Community Impact of the Year, 2011, 800,000 square feet, Market Square Twitter's HQ on behalf of ADCO and Shorenstein
Chris is a San Francisco Bay Area native, lives in Marin County, is married to Stephanie, and has a son, Jack (9) and daughter Emerson (6). He loves the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Warriors, enjoys skiing with his kids at Squaw Valley, attempting to play golf at the Meadow Club, and coaching his kids numerous sports.
MIKE MORAN, CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD
Mike Moran has specialized in providing Commercial Real Estate services to institutional investors and corporate tenants in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1985. In addition to representing such Institutional Investors as Blackstone, Hudson Pacific Properties, Prudential, Kylli/Genzon, Starwood Capital, Equity Office, and Lennar/Five Point, Mike has extensive experience with ground up construction, development planning, and lease workouts. On the tenant side, Mike provides strategic advisory services to the likes of Nintendo, Camico Mutual Insurance, Berkshire Hathaway (Applied Underwriters), ON24, Sunesis Pharmaceuticals and more. To date, Mike has completed over 16,000,000 square feet of Leases and 5,500,000 square feet of Sales collectively totaling more than $3 billion in transaction volume. Mike also sits on Cushman & Wakefield's Technology Advisory Council (2014-Present) and is Co-Chair of the Office Project Leasing Council for The Americas (2010-Present).
SAM SWAN, JLL
As a former principal with The Staubach Company, Mr. Swan joined Jones Lang LaSalle as Managing Director through the firms 2008 merger and currently oversees the Oakland Metro region. Mr. Swan specializes in the representation of Fortune 1000 corporations in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the Western United States. Previously, Mr. Swan was Executive Director and Manager of Cushman & Wakefield's Oakland office from 2001-2006. Mr. Swan has established impressive credentials over the past 27 years, serving as team leader on many of the largest transactions in the East Bay area. Mr. Swan specializes in the representation of Fortune 1000 corporation and growing regional firms. His teams ability to combine a dominant market position with a comprehensive corporate services platform for regional occupiers in the greater East Bay has distinguished his team over the past 10 years. He is a noted industry expert on tenant representation, and has been quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, as well as multiple business and trade publications.
He is active in the community with several organizations, specifically Santa Maria Church, Junior Achievement, multiple charity groups and the Catholic Youth Organization. Mr. Swan lives in Orinda, California with his wife and five children.
