Grande Orquesta Navarre
"An old squeezebox band in the hotel lobby of a Fellini movie" is how Tom Hagerman, who plays accordion and violin with the group, describes Grande Orquesta Navarre's sound.
The Denver-based combo features Hagerman (also of the pop band, DeVotchKa), Susan Cahill (festival faculty and double bassist with the Colorado Symphony), bowmaker Evan Orman on bandoneon and cello, and Boulder pianist Sara Parkinson.
Be prepared to hear tango, folk, gypsy, jazz and classical, mixed together into a unique style that is both a throwback and a revelation. We can't think of a more exciting way to kick off our 2018 season!
Tickets go on sale to the public on March 26 and to donors on March 12. To find out more about accessing donor pricing, contact the festival office at (719) 389-6552.
