Bean Creek is a bluegrass band, hailing from right here on the central coast that plays straight ahead traditional style bluegrass and a pinch of lively old-time music. They play with an authentic bravado that excites, then soothes, then tears up, in song after song of heartbreak, love, loss, and home. This band was voted Best Bluegrass Band last year by the Northern California Bluegrass Society (for the second time) and also have captured Best Vocalist (Billy Pitrone), Best Banjo Player (Rob Horgan), and Best Mandolin Player (Peter Hicks) in previous years. Vocal harmonies and fine pickin places Bean Creek in the top echelon of the California traditional bluegrass scene. They have had the privilege to open for IBMA winners Danny Paisley, Michael Cleveland and James King. Band members include Billy Pitrone on guitar and vocals, Sarah Eblen on bass and vocals, Rob Horgan on banjo and Peter Hicks on mandolin, fiddle, and vocals.
