B-Side Social w/ Ryan Connors
The Nashville Jazz Workshop continues the new B-Side Social series, Thursday, February 22 at 7pm. We'll push back the tables for this fun, informal gathering featuring pianist Ryan Connors.
Ryan Connors is a pianist, producer and arranger based out of Nashville, Tennessee, best known as the leader of the jazz/funk/R&B touring group Dynamo. Ryan also co-founded a production company and has produced various musical projects and collaborated with notable artists. His momentum into the heart of Nashvilles music scene is due to his passion for seeking and creating a musical community locally while working to expand this reach and make connections to musicians throughout the country.
Ryan's band Dynamo consistently tours the country, gaining acclaim especially in the Northeast. They have won 2 Nashville Industry Music Awards and have recorded three albums, Live at Ocean Way, Find Your Way, and Celina, all organized and produced by Ryan.
For this B-Side performance Ryan will present both an acoustic and an electric set, joined by these great musicians:
Set 1 - (Acoustic) Ryan Connors - Grand Piano Alex Graham - Alto Saxophone Patrick Atwater - Bass Ross McReynolds - Drums
Set 2 - (Electric) Ryan Connors - 2 electric keyboards Adam McPhail - Electric Guitar Calvin Knowles - Electric Bass Josh Reynolds - Drums
Come hang out at the Jazz Cave for these B-Side Social events. Once a month NJW will feature up and coming artists in Nashville's continually growing jazz scene. With a lower ticket price -- $12 advance, $15 at the door -- and open seating, it makes for a great Friday night.
As with all events, NJW is always BYOB and BYOF.
The show is on Thursday, February 22, and doors open at 6:30pm for the 7:00 performance. Tickets are $12 advance and $15 at the door. Tickets will be available to purchase starting February 12 from Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets are also available by phone 24/7 at 800-838-3006, or during daytime business hours at 615-242-5299.
B-Side Social is sponsored in part by Native Magazine.
