WOMEN OF SONG: Maine Singer-songwriters Showcase
This one-of-a-kind evening will showcase three of Maine's best known female Singer-Songwriters today: Emilia Dahlin, Sorcha Cribben-Merrill & Ronda Dale. Deertrees is thrilled to bring this unique WOMEN OF SONG concert to life in Harrison's historic theatre created for music and live performance. This August 16th concert promises an incredible range of talent, original music, and wonderful storytelling lyrics thru music that will touch your soul and stir your heart!
EMILA DAHLIN: Wielding a voice that defies the size of her body and strong storytelling sensibilities, Emilia Dahlin has carved out her name as a unique songstress. She weaves mesmerizing tales (complete with Greek myths, robotic messiahs, epic floods, and tax evaders) with raw, rootsy folk and dynamic jazz vocals. Her well-crafted songs sound as if they've been left outside where time and weather have worn cracks for the wind to whip through. Her sky-rocketing energy is delivered with honesty.
SORCHA CRIBBEN-MERRILL: Sorcha composes stirring music steeped in blues, folk, jazz and soul. She graces stages throughout New England and beyond with her 'sultry, jazzy' voice of unexpected power and presence. "From haunting ballads to charming vignettes to funk grooves, her songs unveil a suite of musical styles that shows a wide-ranging songwriting ability. . . witty verses with smart rhymes." (Portland Phoenix)
RONDA DALE: RONDA DALE: Ronda loves singing and connecting with audiences. Her heartfelt original songs are full of humor, passion and depth. She's been inspired by a range of artists past and present, from Patsy Cline, Willie Dixon, Hank Williams and Etta James to Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits and Bonnie Raitt.
