Dr. Schiebinger is the John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University. She currently directs the project Gendered Innovations in Science, Health & Medicine, Engineering, and Environment.
She is an international authority on gender and science. Her research has been featured in the New York Times, the New Yorker, and on NPR. From 2004-2010, she served as the Director of Stanford's Clayman Institute for Gender Research.
Dr. Schiebinger received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1984 and she has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize and Guggenheim Fellowship.
