TWEED @ PANGEA presents Iris Rose: Torch Songs Revisited FINAL PEFORMANCE

The show is presented as part of "Sundays at Seven".
"Sundays at Seven" is a Series presented by TWEED TheaterWorks, Kevin Malony Artistic Director.

TWEED TheaterWorks (EST 1983),  Kevin Malony Artistic director,  has been partnering with Pangea for the past three years to present a stellar performance series on Sundays (and some others days!) that combines the best of the "old school' and the "up & coming" musical, performance, and theater artists that NYC has to offer.  www.tweedtheater.org

1987: Iris Rose commissions original torch songs for her show More Songs of Desire and Despair.
2011: She sings country torch classics with a cover band.
2017: Iris combines two from the former (written by They Might Be Giants) and two from the latter (by Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette) with an eclectic mix of songs by The Magnetic Fields and The Handsome Family, among others, for Torch Songs Revisited at Pangea.
2018: On Sunday, March 25th, Iris is joined by Christopher Berg (piano), Joel McGlynn (guitar), and Lily DePaula (vocals) to perform Torch Songs Revisited ONE LAST TIME.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Iris Rose wrote, directed, and performed dozens of original works, with and without the performance group Watchface, at The Pyramid Club, P.S. 122 and La MaMa, among many other venues. She devoted most of the following decades to parenting and writing, but returned to directing and performing with the creation of Theater of the Grasshopper, from 2008 to 2011. Along with other members of Watchface, she spent years assembling an extensive archival website documenting their history, watchface.nyc, launched in 2016 at the group's one-night reunion marking the 30th anniversary of Dixon Place.

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
