Your Brain -- Use It Or Lose It
If you don't use your brain, it will age more quickly. This course, "Use It or Lose It" will address what one needs to do to keep the brain healthy. The course will show participants how to continue mental stimulation through learning new skills and activities. Discussion topics will include but not limited to: "Brain robbers"; effects of physical activities and the relationship between physical activities and brain health; nutrition and memory; what is memory?; short and long term memory; can one improve memory? In addition, new and stimulating fun activities including neurobics, lateral thinking and mneumonics will be a part of the course. Dr. Sonja Glassmeyer is a Retired Professor Emerita (Cal Poly College of Science and Math). She served in the Kinesiology Dept. from 1974 to 2007. Her areas of expertise include health education, exercise and health promotion for senior adults, and corporate health and wellness Wednesdays, April 3 & 17 10:30 am - 12:30 pm St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, SLO
