The Power of Sport + Play, Lecture by Kevin Carroll
Join us Tuesday, April 9, at 7 pm, when Kevin Carroll talks about how a ball can change the world. The lecture takes place at the Mercy Corps Action Center, 28 SW 1st Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97204; 503-896-5747.

In conjunction with his exhibit The Art of Sport + Play, on view April - July at the Action Center, Kevin Carroll gives a talk about how sport and play changed his life, and the lives of thousands throughout the world. Sport and play are common human denominators and equalizers. No matter where you go in the world - regardless of socioeconomic, political or religious system - we ALL PLAY + we ALL SPEAK BALL. Stories abound about the use of sport and play as social innovation tools versus foes of the human condition - HIV/AIDS, gender equity, social inclusion, homelessness, literacy, natural disaster, conflict and many others. Sport and play are ever-present throughout our world and there are human catalysts who utilize it to inspire change and action.
