ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Workshop
Achieving ENERGY STAR certification allows you to benefit from reduced or eliminated call backs, increased comfort for occupants and the highest energy efficiency for the budget. Efficiency means more buying power for your clients due to less costs to operate and maintain. Certification of the projects allows you to benefit from all of the rebates available and receive a potential $2000 tax credit (EPACT). All projects receive a HERS Index Score and third party verification which allows you the opportunity prove to all the efficiency rating of the building.
Join Sustainable Connections as we host a Northwest ENERGY STAR workshop. This half-day workshop reviews key changes for builders and trade partners for the Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes program. The new program requirements incorporate a whole-home approach that, in addition to energy efficiency, addresses building durability, improved HVAC performance and indoor air quality. These requirements result in homes that deliver increased performance and value for homeowners. Specific topics to be covered during the half-day class include: Addressing why the program's specification is changing and what impact it will have on builders and trade partners Understanding the benefits of Version 3 for builders, verifiers and home buyers Identifying critical building details by working in groups to pinpoint new and challenging details in the construction process and collectively developing a plan of action to address them Determining the people, tools, materials and work methods needed to get the job done right the first time *Coffee and a light breakfast included
