Comedian Jeff Gerbino presents Valentines Comedy Massacre with guest star, Susie Saccoman.Two Italian comedians, one from New York and one from the Iron Range of Minnesota celebrate love the "Old World" way.
ABOUT JEFF GERBINO
Minnesota served as fertile ground for the New Yorker, Jeff Gerbino. Between trips to visit his fiancée in Melrose, Minnesota and various day jobs, Jeff Gerbino straddled careers and his art at a time when comedy was just a glow in a few young comedians eyes. With a $1 cover charge, and a hand drawn logo, Jeff championed the newborn comedy industry with a handful of wiseguys that included Louie Anderson, Scott Hansen and a blue collar bar named Mickey Finns
The St. Paul Pioneer Press called Jeff the "founding father" of the Twin Cities comedy scene as Mickey Finn's quickly became "the place to be" on Friday and Saturday nights. Comics such as Louie Anderson, Jeff Cesario, Stephanie Hodge, Joel Hodgson and Scott Hansen all got their starts there.
In the 1980's, after developing his trademark combination of political impersonations and current event material, Jeff headed to Los Angeles. Jeff was a finalist in the Los Angeles Comedy Contest hosted by Jay Leno and was chosen as one of Hollywood's hottest new comedy stars by the L.A. Weekly.
Jeff quickly became a nationally touring headliner at clubs all over the US. He made numerous appearances on national TV including CBS Morning Show, HBO's Comic Relief, A&E's Comedy On The Road and PBS's Almanac.
With a wife and two young children in tow, Jeff headed back to the Twin Cities where he now lives. In Minnesota, Jeff has hosted his own radio and television shows while performing at clubs and developing a strong corporate act including his famous consultant imposter along with motivational comedy speeches.
Jeff Gerbino enjoys politics. He leans to the left but he knows that both sides are funny.The comic has written politically for both sides of the coin. In the last gubernatorial campaign, he was a contributor to speeches for Minnesota's Republican governor Tim Pawlenty and the Democrat candidate Mike Hatch . U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar has also used Jeff's jokes and Almanac has used Jeff to open their show via monologue on numerous occasions.
ABOUT SUSIE SACCOMAN
Susie Saccoman's stage presence is developed from being raised on the Iron Range and 17 years as an elementary teacher in Minneapolis.. From her family stories growing up on the Range, to her years of working as a teacher in North Minneapolis and everything in between. Susies's life theory remains true; "Like your husband, love your job! Because you're on the job a lot more than.."
Saccoman has a hilarious, storytelling style. Audiences of all ages and backgrounds enjoy her real approach. Known for being charmingly risqué', Susie's big, brown eyes and animated expression will have you in a belly laugh!
