Get An Act. Burlesque Class
Get An Act is a six week intermediate class based on improving the development skills for creating an act. This class is designed to teach you the process to get from idea to a polished act.
Class Objective: Upon completion of this six week course you'll have a new or improved act with the skills to create complex numbers from start to finish. Including music creation, costume design, makeup and accessories, dance choreography and understanding the details that make the act.
Class Curriculum: Why, when and how to use fans effectively. Pasties, usage and twirling. Stage Personas, why we use them and when to use them. How to make an entrance. Exiting the stage with a bang. How to maximize the stage personality. What makes an act impressive, crowd pleasing and show stopping. Make up and wig usage. Bumps, grinds, struts and shimmys in context. How to get a gimmick and when it's appropriate. Understanding music choice and style. Understanding body type and costume style. Impov vs choreography. To prop or not to prop. Preparing for all the obstacles of possible venues Professionalism in booking and performance. Business ethics.
Class materials and written material are provided with both lecture, Q&A and hands on performances taking place.
Class times and schedule: Eighteen hours of class time in the six week course.

Class Fees: $250
$100 deposit required to reserve a seat. Balance may be paid in $25 installments required at each class. Please contact Lili for limited scholarship opportunities. Some burlesque performance experience is required or dance and theater training. This is a not beginner class. Please contact Lili if you are unsure if you qualify. Students will be contacted upon registration.

Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes early for sign in and dress comfortably. Performance and dance classes dates will require costumes (if developed) for best results.

Lili VonSchtupp made her debut performance at the legendary Derby in Hollywood CA, on a starry Monday night in 2004. In 2006, she competed in Miss Viva Las Vegas and performed at the legendary New York Burlesque Festival. Having worked with Satan's Angel, and studied with many burlesque educators and performers, Lili's 6 plus years in performing serves as great grounding in the art of burlesque.
As producer of Monday Night Tease! and Burlesque After Dark, Lili has booked over 1200 separate performances and worked with both local, national and international talent. Her unique experience as a performer and a producer allows her the eye to understand what works artistically for the performer as a work of art, and from the audience perspective of entertainment. Serving the art form and the consumer is her expertise.
