Dennis Warner
You won't want to miss this awesome show with Dennis Warner. He has been entertaining audiences around the world for many years. There is one song that I have always enjoyed listening to, and Warner definitely performs it best of all. In fact, it is worth the price of admission just to hear him sing this song LIVE.
Recognized for his crafty wit and skillful musicianship, Folk/Americana musician and entertainer Dennis Warner captivates audiences in over 100 cities each year with his smooth vocals and six and twelve string guitars. He is also a popular guest speaker at various community gatherings throughout the country.
Warner's credits include appearing on numerous regional television and radio programs as well as NPR's "Great Acoustics, Live!" and "River City Folk". He has hosted his own radio special, "Jammin' with Dennis Warner" broadcast by public radio affiliates. Dennis recently released SEEDS (his ninth CD) and is the author of the popular children's book Beads on One String.
Released during the winter of 2012, SEEDS became a hit on public radio reaching #12 on the folk music charts worldwide. Three singles from the album made it into the top 40 for the months of February and March. By the end of March, "SEEDS" continued to rank respectably, coming in at #39. Rich Warren, popular host of the syndicated radio show Midnight Special honored Dennis by designating "SEEDS" as his CD Pick of the Week and continues to highlight Dennis' music with featured selections.
Widely admired for his moving interpretations of songs written by others, his songwriting talents have also been recognized by many, including the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. They called Dennis one of the best of the unknown songwriters and honored him with an invitation to perform in concert. Another songwriting accolade is being a three-time "New Folk" finalist for songwriting at the internationally acclaimed Kerrville Folk Festival (TX), co-founded by producer Rod Kennedy and legendary performer Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary). Dennis has also appeared multiple times at Nashville's famed writers' club, The Bluebird Café.
Warner has collaborated with many noted musicians, including vocalist Prudence Johnson, and instrumentalists Peter Ostroushko and George Maurer. Most recently, he recorded with musician and humanitarian J.D. Steele.
Besides being a gifted musician, Dennis Warner is also an outstanding entertainer, cleverly blending up-tempo songs, ballads, audience participation and humor into a memorable event. He is noted for his warm stage presence and ability to connect with his audience.
Now in it's Fourth Printing, Warner's popular book Beads on One String evolved from one of his songs and led to the creation of The Beads on One String Project, an elementary school curriculum being used throughout the country as a meaningful and fun way to teach kids about the negative effects of bullying and the positive effects of recognizing our "connectedness" with others. In support of his book and the curriculum project, Dennis is often a guest musician and speaker at schools, libraries and Sunday morning gatherings.
Though he calls Minnesota home, Warner loves being on the road and has visited every state during his wonderful career. Dennis tours solo and also with his band "the D's". On and off the stage, Dennis is personable and good-humored. When not working on his music, he can be found sailing, eating ice cream or listening to a Minnesota Twins baseball game.
