Edith is a product of the National New Play Network. It began its grand world tour in 2011 during the Humana Festival at the Actors Theatre of Louisville and received numerous nominations since its premiere including the GLAAD Media Awards and the Lambda Literary Award.

Set in a remote Midwestern town, Kenny and his younger sister Edith are forced to fend for themselves since their mother has passed away and father is near absent. Edith is a spirited twelve-year who exists in her fantasy world she unceasingly attempts to wrangle her brother into. When Kenneth's friend Benji joins their makeshift family, relationships are rocked and final support systems are destroyed.

The play is directed by one of the company's co-founding artistic directors and VCU Theatre alum, Lucian Restivo. The actors include Mauricio Marcés, Madeline Lovegrove, and Chandler Hubbard.

This small cast carries a heavy task of communicating a variety of mature themes. Restricted romances, family loyalty and parental abandonment being just a few that are thrown in their path. New dynamics being grown must be enough to stabilize and foster the lives of these three youth. It is their compassion for one another they grasp onto and savor in order to create the family that they have always wanted.

Pamatmat does a remarkable job of creating a story with spirit and poignancy, all delivered through lines that will hearken you to think back on your days of first love. Recall what it feels like to find that person worth fighting for. The passion for hope and in this play is certain to rub off on you.

Don't miss Stage B Theatre Company's Edith Can Shoot Things And Hit Them! It's sure to hit a bulls eye!
