Oliver Senton: Where Does The Story Start?
Ever wondered how to start telling/writing your story? Incorporating improvisation techniques, but taking Euripides'The Bacchaeas a foundation to work from, we'll look at asmany different ways of staging and telling a story as wecan fit into a day. What do we need to see, what do we not? How long is too long? What best suits the story I want to tell?If you have an interest in impro ANDstuff that's actually written down, or if you justhave an idea but aren't sure how to develop it, this may be a good place to start.
Oliver Senton is a founder member of The School of Night, the 'hard bardic' literary improvisers, and ofShowstopper! The Improvised Musical, and an associate of Slung Low. He teaches impro at Drama Studio London and occasionally RADA, among others, and has just directed Shakespeare projects for Mountview and Rose Bruford: he has also taught in Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur and Texas. As an actor he has also worked for the RSC, Chichester and all over the UK, and in the West End inPeter PanandMamma Mia!His productions of Max Dickins'The Man on The Moorand of gemskii'sJoan, Babs & Shelagh Tooare currently touring.
