Syd and Sylvia - at the Tom Thumb Theatre, Margate
On-line sales for this event end 12 hours before the start time of the event. Tickets may be purchased on the door (cash only).
Eastbourne,1987. Infamous club owner / compere Syd and his long-suffering singer/entertainer wife Sylvia, have been performing the same old routines at their working mens club for 15 years. However, after taking up an evening class in Womens Studies, Sylvia has been taking liberties with some of the material, much to the disapproval of her abusive husband. Re-imagined karaoke lyrics, cheesy keyboard playing and bad jokes sit alongside harrowing anecdotes of misogyny and sexual assault in this one-woman show about control, expectation and the crap that women face every day. Early booking advised. 9.30pm. Over 16's only. This event is followed by a post-show Debate on Sexism in the Entertainment Industry, free tickets can be booked on Brown Paper Tickets if you would like to attend.
