Andrea Wild Presents
St Davids Day celebrates the patron saint of Wales. Festivities continue to commemorate the day on March 1st each year and we invite you to join this tradition with a very special concert at Artichoke Music. The event features Welsh folk revival band, Three Pound Note, Harpist Elizabeth Nicholson as well as brother-sister duo, Both Wild, and special guests.
Three Pound Note, Welsh Folk Revival Two ex-pats from the UK, both of Welsh descent, Andrea Wild and Hugo Glanville come armed with a broad repertoire of folk music from their native homeland engaging audiences with energized renditions of traditional songs. These two have merged musical forces with uilleann piper, Preston Howard and renowned bouzouki player, Zac Leger. With strong vocal harmonies, bouzouki, guitar, fiddle, whistles, accordion and pipes they collectively create unique arrangements of traditional Welsh folk music infused with dynamic elements from the Breton and Cornish music traditions. As the only Welsh folk band on the West coast, Three Pound Note offers a rare opportunity here in the US to hear traditional Welsh folk music performed in the Welsh language.
