North American Premiere of Antonio Draghi's Giuditta
The Academy of Sacred Drama is pleased to present the North American Premiere of Antonio Draghis Giuditta. Oratorio Readings include a musical performance by critically acclaimed early-music performers led by violinist and director Jeremy Rhizor, a lecture, and a dessert break.
The Academy 2017-2018 season features three Italian oratorios based upon the deuterocanonical Book of Judith. Determined to reverse the cruel fate of her city, Judith captivates the commander of the enemy forces with her beauty and decapitates him in the night.
This is the second of two performances. The alternative time and location is 7:30 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Marquand Chapel at Yale Divinity School, New Haven, CT.
