Jesse Lege (accordion) 90-minute workshop at KGNU
Cajun Accordion with Jesse Lége
On staff too many times to count at the Augusta Heritage Center in WV, Louisiana Folkroots (Balfa) Camp, and Fiddletunes in Seattle, WA, Jesse has been passing along the tradition he values as a teacher of the Cajun accordion. Hes patient but thorough and can immediately offer suggestions on how to improve ones playing. Hes considered one of the best living accordionists of Cajun music and its only a matter of time before hes listed among the greats like Lawrence Walker, Nathan Abshire, Améde Breaux and Austin Pitre. He has won numerous CFMA (Cajun French Music Association) awards, such as Traditional Band of the Year, Accordion Player of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year. He was inducted into the Cajun Hall of Fame in 1998.
