Convergence 2018 - The 32nd Annual Jazz & Tap Dance Festival

Enjoy America's indigenous dance art form - Jazz Dance at Convergence 2018 - the 32nd Annual Jazz & Tap Dance Festival. "A dance festival with energy and soul."
Convergence 2018 is a presentation of the evolution of American jazz dance with the other dance styles, fusing them into new, appealing presentations that are vital, fresh, rhythmic, energetic. The show is representative of our national dance spirit as it synthesizes the dance art that honors original street dance techniques, jazz dance with contemporary inspiration.
Choreographers today are mixing and merging the classic entertainment dance styles of jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and Broadway. Each participating dance company will bring something unique to the stage that may blend jazz dance with hip hop, tap, or modern dance with a contemporary flair.
Convergence 2018 is produced as a collaboration by Marilyn York with six spectacular dance companies:
* Dancin' Unlimited
* Encore Performers
* iMpulse (Metropolitan School of the Arts)
* MYTE (Metropolitan Youth Tap Ensemble)
* Seton Hill Dance Company
* SOLEdarity.
As another totally new artistic revue, Convergence 2018 will be performed at three shows:
* Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 PM
* Sunday, March 11 at 2 PM
* Sunday, March 11 at 5:30 PM.
Convergence 2018 will held at the new BalletNova Fredgren Studio Theatre, located at 3443 Carlin Springs Road, Falls Church, Virginia (close to Leesburg Pike - Route 7 and Columbia Pike, and convenient to Route 395).
Parking is free and the theater doors open 15 minutes prior to each performance. Please arrive early to facilitate parking and getting to your seat.
All patrons must have a ticket regardless of age. This show is family friendly.
Theater seating is limited so purchase your tickets early. We look forward to seeing you at the show and performing for you!
