Unheard Voices: New Orleans, International Women's Voices Day
To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Worldwide Women's Marches, In Good Company and No Dream Deferred, in association with Southern Rep, New Play Exchange, National New Plays Network and the Womens Voices Theatre Festival, will band together to present a day-long celebration of women and their art.
Unheard Voices: New Orleans (UVNO) will take place Saturday, January 20, 2018 at The Tigermen Den.
This mini arts festival will spotlight unproduced or unshown works from women dramatists, dancers, musicians, authors, and visual artists. Children's programming is featured from 1pm-2pm. This event will also feature women-owned pop-up shops and restaurants.
Doors open at 1pm.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
UVNO seeks to amplify the creative work women do here in NOLA and all over the world. In Good Company and No Dream Deferred are committed to bringing voice to women who have been silenced or who have never had the platform to share their stories. UVNO will feature live performances as well as a curated art show, political panel, and culminating story circle. Proceeds from this event will go to local non-profit organizations committed to unifying, empowering, and nurturing women.
