Honoring your Ancestors
What is remembered lives. You are the descendant of ancestors that made the world you work and thrive in possible. This Samhain season, join me in honoring our ancestors. Learn the practical skills of building ancestor altars from the perspective of European style Witchcraft. Altars are a powerful way to build relationship with the ancestors who love us beyond all reason. Please bring a photo of a beloved ancestor* and a small offering of food or flowers for this class. *this can be any person who has passed who was dear to you.
Please bring a photo of your ancestors. This may be an actual photo of people in your bloodline or family who have died. It may also be a photo of people you loved dearly, friends, teachers, or mentors who have passed. These should be images of people who have passed away, not those who are still living. If you dont know your ancestors or have documentation of them, thats just finebring an image that represents ancestors to you (this may be a landscape, an image of a skeleton or skull, or anything that feels right to you). Also bring a small food or flower offering for the ancestors (you do not need to bring an entire meal or bouquet!). This could be food you know your ancestors loved, or food associated with your culture, or it could be anything that seems yummy and appealing. Trust your intuition and bring what feels best to youyou cant get it wrong!
