The Tennessee Project
The core group from which the SlapDab Theatre Company was formed, met in college at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and then moved to New York to pursue our dreams of theatre. So when we started knocking around ideas for our first show, a tribute to Tennessee playwrights felt like a full circle great idea. We reached out to writers all over the state and found some really amazing works. The incredible outpouring of support for this project has made us come to the easy decision to make this an annual festival for Tennessee playwrights.
The evening will feature eight 10-min plays and live music by one of Nashville's favorite indie bands, Dirty Proper. The evening is heavy on comedy (where else can you see madcap comedies featuring Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth, Batman, and Superman on one stage in one evening?) but will also feature a couple of plays, including the *award winning play entitled The Individuality of Street Lamps, that are sure to tug at your heartstrings.
You don't want to miss this -- our maiden voyage. We promise you will not regret the ride.

about Dirty Proper.
Natalie Aulvin and Trey Call met in a college bar over 10 years ago. Her Country-Western roots and Southern upbringing collided with his native Californian, laid-back, surfer rock vibe resulting in a perfectly balanced Yin(Dirty) and Yang(Proper) coupling. Natalie's sultry singing style oozes downhome Delta, while Trey's structured lead guitar playing steadies the mix.
Dirty Proper provides deep grooves, powerhouse vocals and stellar harmonies through their unique Soul/Pop music. Aulvin and Call capture rich melodies that soothe, move and excite audiences and that is why they are one of Nashville's premiere indie rock bands.
The new album, I'm Ready, is an upbeat Pop EP that administers sweltering beats that rock you to the core. Dirty Proper is more than ready to move you.
