Project Tour: Crestavilla
Join AIAOC on a project construction tour of Crestavilla in Laguna Niguel. An especially unique aspect of Crestavilla is that the building is composed entirely of light-gauge, metal stud framing. The structure is believed to be one of the largest of its kind in Southern California of this construction type. Scheduled to open in March, this Residential Care Facility for the Elderly located in Laguna Niguel offers inspired coastal living for seniors. The campus consists of 201 residential units comprised of independent and assisted living and memory care units.
Founded on the five senses of the wellness atmosphere, the outdoor spaces have been developed using the five senses that are unique to human beings. One courtyard will have rose gardens (smell), another water features (sound), a pebble zen garden (touch) and panoramic views (sight). The dining experiences will contain a variety of culinary experiences (taste). Site selection and building orientation integrates enhanced environmental and health principles into the projects planning, design, and construction. Natural light, views of nature, interior courtyards, high windows and indoor air quality creates an atmosphere where residents and guests want to be. Amenities include a commercial kitchen, two restaurant-style dining rooms, bakery, theater, bistro, worship chapel, classrooms, and indoor/outdoor fitness centers. An intriguing feature of the project is the fourth level activated roof plane which will host a catering kitchen, al fresco dining, lounge/pub, an art studio including a kiln for pottery, sunroom, organic community garden, greenhouse and putting green with views of the ocean and Saddleback Mountains.
