Valentine's Concert with Elspeth Savani World Jazz Trio
Treat your sweetheart to a romantic evening in the mansion with Seattle's Salsa chanteuse Elspeth Savani and her World Jazz Trio. Leader of Cuban Big Band Orchestra Zarabanda, Elspeth Savani combines the traditional Cuban conjunto format and a modern arrangement aesthetic for a sound evocative of Old Havana. Her 2007 CD Gallo Que Canta featured guest artists Jovino Santos Neto, Marco de Carvalho and Anthony Blea and received much critical acclaim including being nominated for "Best Emerging Artist" by Earshot Jazz. With her new CD Flights of Mind-Pensamientos en Vuelo, Elspeth brings her seasoned vocals (sung in English, Spanish and Portugese) and solid composition chops to the forefront, Savani once again steps forward into new musical territory infusing the music with elements of contemporary pop and modern jazz.
