About KEYED UP!:
KEYED UP! has quickly become NYC's favorite entity for musicians, audiences, and venues alike. Operating simultaneously in over 25 partner venues spanning from Jersey City, NJ to Sag Harbor, NY, Keyed Up is proud to keep hundreds of musicians working and over a thousand hungry jazz listeners happy each week at no extra cost to partner venues.
Jazz Generationis a Keyed Up! jazz education and performance initiative that creates playing opportunities for children and adults in separate, yet complementary, programs. For younger jazz musicians, the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra gives the invaluable experience of a weekly gig on one of New York's most famous stages. Finally, for New York schoolchildren, the Jazz Discovery Program introduces the music to grade schoolers, often for the first time.
About the Jazz Foundation of America: For 26 years, the Jazz Foundation of America has been keeping jazz and blues alive by helping the musicians who have played with everyone from Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. The JFA is committed to providing financial, medical and legal assistance to those great jazz and blues veterans who have paid their dues by making a lifetime of this music and find themselves in crisis due to illness, age and/or circumstance, and now assists in more than 5,000 cases a year nationwide. Please visit jazzfoundation.org for more info.
