Join us for the third NorCal Gathering. Well be learning and sharing experiences and information about creating and supporting person centered systems, organizations and services through the implementation of person-centered practices.
Conference Conversations: CMS Changes and Measuring Progress Towards Implementing Person Centered Practices Speaker: Mary Lou Bourne Respondent: Michael Smull Q and A The Power and Challenge of Implementing Change Tomorrow Speaker: Michael Smull Respondent: Mary Lou Bourne Q and A Work, Friendships and Control Speaker: Mary Lou Bourne Respondent: Michael Smull Q and A Lets Talk About Choice Speaker: Michael Smull Respondent: Mary Lou Bourne Q and A Break-Out and General Session Conversations Include: Introduction to the Person Centered Thinking Skills; Person Centered Practices and Cultural Diversity; Film Festival; Ideas for Implementing and Evaluating Our Efforts; New Skills in Person Centered Thinking and Planning; Community and Relationship Building; and, Community of Practice for California Organizations. An Open Marketplace process will be used to determine additional topics. Bring your ideas of what you would like to learn and what you have to share.
"Gathering" - To come together to learn and share in both structured and informal conversations, experiences and information, about creating and supporting person centered systems, organizations and services through the implementation of person-centered practices. This Gathering will be inspiring for: PCT Trainers, Mentors, PCT Coaches, Regional Center Service Coordinators, Administrators, Supervisors, Direct Support Staff, Individuals Who Receive Services And Their Families. No previous history in Person Centered Thinking training is necessary.
Vision of the Learning Community All people have positive control over the lives they have chosen for themselves
Purpose of the Learning Community To foster a global community that shares knowledge about supporting people in getting the lives they want. Our focus is on people who do not have positive control or are at risk of losing positive control because of society's response to the presence of a disability.
The Gathering is being organized by Learning Community Mentors and Trainers: Bill Allen, Allen Shea and Associates, Sheila Keys, Redwood Coast Regional Center, Cindy Giliam Sullivan, Redwood Coast Regional Center and Claudia Bolton, NorthStar Services and CIRCL.
